If this was a dream, Adam didn’t want anyone to wake him up. Here he was, in the middle of one of his favorite forests, about to marry the love of his life, the mother of his three sons, and his mom was there. Adam had invited his family in hopes they would maybe show up, maybe try to patch up things between them; as days past, he had given up on his family outside of his kids being there. He struggled with the thought of his parents not being there- who would refuse to see their kids get married?

But then Rob came into the room where he was getting ready, saying that there was a woman downstairs who said she was his mom and wanted to see Adam. He didn't believe it until the maid of honor brought Lorraine Ainsworth to him; Adam cried at the sight of his mother, hugging her tightly.

He had to be dreaming, right? This was too good to be real. He had his best friends standing up next to him along with his three little sons. Life was good- why did he ever even consider not being around for this?

Adam fumbled with Vivian's wedding band inside his pants pocket as he waited for her; there had to be a catch, right? She was late. Rationally, she was probably getting ready. But she could have easily ran off- he could understand why. Adam wasn't exactly lovable and there was his not-so-friendly gifts and career choice. He had a child by another woman who was difficult at times, and he...Well, he wasn't trying to think about his accident, but surely if they had made it through that there was no stopping them?

He took a deep breath, watching for his bride, waiting for her, wanting her- all too ready to make her his wife in front of all their family and friends, to solidify everything they had built together the past few years, to show her and everyone around them how much he truly did love her…

Adam lost his breath when Vivian finally stepped out of her fairy princess carriage, looking like Grace Kelly.

This was Vivian's big day. Her big, big day. She'd spent so much time planning, between working, taking care of her children. Helping Adam and the family through the aftermath of his accident. Everything up to his point had been work, stress. The countless sleepless nights, the bickering. The fighting that came from both her and her fiance being stressed over their tight schedules and tension from keeping secrets from everyone in their lives.

But it was paying off. In a short while, everything wouldn't matter. Except Adam, and her. They'd have two weeks together in the French Rivera. A private bungalow on the edge of the Mediterranean, not another soul in sight unless they wished to take a car and drive.

Vivian couldn't wait. But first...

The moment this had all been building up to. All morning, Vivian had been sick with worry. She'd brushed her teeth four times now, bursting into tears twice. Addy had made some comment about a baby, that Vivian had ignored. A stupid joke. But her sister had been wonderful, wiping her streaks away and perfectly reapplying Vivian's make up, putting pins back into her hair. The way she acted now, compared to Vivian's first wedding with Seamus made Vivian believe that this was the one. That Adam was truly it.

"What if he's not there?" Vivian had asked her bridal party about a million times. Addy, Rob, Jaya and Leaha each having to go and check and reaffirm that yes, Adam was indeed waiting for her.

Vivian was... Vivian was terrified. Addy had told her this was a good thing, that last time Vivian had acted as if her wedding was a business meeting and this meant that she was really facing the man she loved more than anything.

"Okay," Vivian sighed, having Jaya do up the buttons on the back of her dress as she slipped into it. The carriage was here, waiting to take her from the bridal pavilion up the way to where the set up was. Vivian had seen pictures of it, how the trees hung and the light shone through to make the scene look ethereal. At least that was perfect. "It's go time." The others took their own carriage, pulled by doe from a sanctuary Vivian had contacted months ago for this. Just before, Addy had placed the veil attached to a golden crown of branches on her head, kissing her cheeks before each other them said some form of goodbye.

She was alone, ready to take the ride by herself in the carriage drawn by two beautiful bucks.

It was short, not even ten minutes. But it was long enough for Vivian to shake with nerves. But upon arriving, Vivian saw that Adam was there. That everyone was seated, her father there waiting at the isle to take Vivian's arm as she stepped out. "Hi, Daddy," she whispered, eyes filling with tears that she tried to blink away. "I love you," she said, letting her dad keep her upright as she walked on the uneven ground of the forest to her march.

At the end, Vivian kissed her dad on his cheek as he passed her hand to Adam, stepping up onto the platform, Rob, Addy, Jaya and Leaha behind and to the side of her.

Vivian wanted to fall over. Adam was the most beautiful man she'd ever seen. She was glad she'd sent Rob to stop him from shaving. "Hi," Vivian whispered softly, acutely aware of everyone watching her. Normally she reveled in the attention. But right now? Vivian almost wished it was just her, and her husband to be.

He tried to catch his breath as Vivian made her way down the aisle. Adam's big green eyes were already welling up with tear-he tried to blink them away but he could feel a tear trickling down his cheek.

"Hey,'' adam rasped out; his voice was rough, like he was trying to prevent himself from choking up even more. She came-of course she came- but they had been through so much in the past year. Hell, they had been through so much together. His "accident.'' Her stabbing. All of their fights. That horrific bombing in London. Law School. Seeing each other with other people...no matter like threw at them, Adam and Vivian found themselves together more often than not.

and that was something. A goddamn miracle, really, but damn, was he grateful for that miracle. He was grateful for Vivian- he loved her so much, he couldn't even imagine his life without that tiny, shrill woman. He went into a coughing fit before swallowing and telling his bride that she was always the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen, but today she looked like the royalty she always wanted to be.

He told her that he loved her, right there in front of all their friends and family and Justin Trudeau, before their vows even started. The officiant introduced them and started the ceremony-but Adam was lost in vivian's big brown eyes.

"Adam? Adam-''

"Uh-sorry, she's just-she's so gorgeous I couldn't help myself. I, Adam Bartholomew Ainsworth the Third, take you, Vivian Alexandra Donohue, as my lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness," he paused for a moment to squeeze her hands. He let the tears slide doun his face" And in health, for richer or poorer...as long as we both shall live."
